Illustrations of the book Duck Death and the Tulip by Wolf Erlbruch. These were made for a university project where the objective was to produce rough illustrations for the whole book, and to develop 3 to 4 full-colour double-page spreads.

For this story, I decided to keep the colours light-hearted and upbeat to emphasise the positive elements of the story to make it more approachable to children as the story deals with life and death. I also decided to have Death take on a bird-like form as he follows the duck to her death, as I wanted him to seem more approachable with a few otherworldly elements. For Duck, I decided to give her a bucket hat with a flower to show her liveliness and character as the story follows the two of them.
